Hurricanes Dominate Pitt 38-7 in Season Finale

The Miami Hurricanes closed out their regular season with a commanding 38–7 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers at Acrisure Stadium. The performance was one of Miami’s most complete outings of the season, showcasing discipline, efficiency, and playmaking on both sides of the ball.

Miami Sets the Tone Early

Despite early momentum from Pittsburgh, including a 7–3 lead in the first quarter, Miami quickly settled in and took control. From that point forward, the Hurricanes scored 35 unanswered points, overwhelming the Panthers with consistent offensive pressure and a stifling defensive effort.

Offensive Standouts

Quarterback Carson Beck delivered a strong performance, finishing 23-of-29 for 267 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. His poise and accuracy kept the Miami offense moving throughout the night.

Freshman wide receiver Malachi Toney continued to impress, setting a new Miami freshman receiving-yardage record. He totaled 13 receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown, and even added a touchdown pass of his own, further cementing his breakout season.

The ground game contributed valuable balance, while the offensive line provided consistent protection, allowing Miami to control the tempo from the second quarter onward.

Defense Shuts Down Pitt

Miami’s defense was equally dominant, holding Pitt to just 229 total yards and limiting the Panthers to only 30 rushing yards. The Hurricanes’ front seven applied constant pressure, forcing hurried throws and preventing Pitt from establishing any rhythm offensively. Standout performances from Rueben Bain Jr., Zechariah Poyser, and the linebacker group helped Miami control the trenches throughout the game.

What the Win Means

With the victory, Miami finishes the regular season 10–2 overall and 6–2 in ACC play, marking back-to-back double-digit win seasons — something the program hasn’t achieved since the early 2000s. The emphatic win strengthens Miami’s postseason résumé and builds momentum heading into bowl season.
